Welcome to our web site that has been constructed this year in support of the 2008 WHS/Victory Softball Classic.  This will be the 26th year of our annual tournament, and the first time we will be using our web site to post results and track all of the action as they occur in real time.

As has been the case each year since 2001, our event will be played at beautiful Bill Barber Memorial Park located in Irvine, California.  The park offers the highest quality softball facilities found anywhere in Orange County, and the Irvine City staff will continue to keep the fields in the finest condition as each game is played throughout the tournament.

We have made a few significant changes to the tournament format this year that we are very excited about, and feel will make our event an even better experience for the participating teams and their fans.

The tournament will be comprised of 24 teams and all of the games will be played exclusively at Bill Barber Memorial Park.  In the past we have had to move some consolation games of prior tournaments to other sites in Irvine.  However, this year we will be able to ensure all the participating teams will play all of their five scheduled games on site at Bill Barber Memorial Park.  This will allow for better continuity during the tournament and prevent teams from having to move to another location in order to complete their scheduled competition for any tournament day.

The tournament this year will be completed over three dates with teams scheduled to play each date in the following format:

• Day 1 (Saturday, April 5) – POOL PLAY Games
• Day 2 (Monday, April 7) – BRACKET PLAY: QUARTERFINAL Games
• Day 3 (Saturday, April 12) – BRACKET PLAY: CHAMPIONSHIP & CONSOLATION Games

Each team will play two games on DAY 1 in one of eight pre-assigned pools consisting of three teams per pool.  After pool play concludes on DAY 1, teams will be assigned to one of three championship brackets:

• GOLD BRACKET – Teams that finish 1st in their assigned pool
• SILVER BRACKET – Teams that finish 2nd in their assigned pool
• BRONZE BRACKET – Teams that finish 3rd in their assigned pool

Each team will play one game of DAY 2 in the quarterfinal round of the bracket they are assigned to as determined by their finish in pool play.  Finally, on DAY 3 of the tournament each team will play their final two games in the championship and/or consolation games within their bracket.

Throughout each day the tournament is played our web site will be continually updated with the most current results.  The web site is constructed in a manner that will make it very easy to navigate through the brackets and results to check out all of the action as soon as possible as each game is completed.
