Woodbridge 1, Santa Margarita 3:  The game score was the same as two weeks ago, but the match between the #4-ranked Warriors and the #2-ranked Eagles was totally different from the very beginning.  Read Tim Burt's Irvine World News article on the match. 

Woodbridge lost to Santa Margarita, 23-25, 22-25, 25-20, 16-25, Friday night before an enthusiastic crowd at the WHS Gym.  In losing the first two games, the Warriors scrambled throughout, never falling behind by more than 3 points.

The Warriors finally got a win in the third game when, behind at 13-16, Scott Liljestrom put together a serving string of four straight points to put Woodbridge ahead for good at 18-16.  The Warriors went to win the game, 25-20.

In the fourth game, though, Santa Margarita's strength showed although the Warriors were close at 10-12.  From there on, the Eagles dominated to win out, 25-16.
