CIF CHAMPIONS FOR THE THIRD TIME!

Warriors Girls Track 2008 CIF-SS Div. II ChampionsOn Saturday, in heat approaching 100 degrees all day at Mt. SAC in Walnut, the Warriors Girls Track team defeated the weather elements and all the other schools in Division II to win their 3rd CIF-SS Division II team championship in school history with 55 points to 43 points for the second place finisher, North Torrance.

  

Woodbridge has also finished 2nd nine times (including the past two years) in the CIF-SS championships.

  

  

The Warriors scored their points the following way:  Christine Babcock won the 1600 and 3200 (best times in all four divisions in both events), Kyle Wolff won the 400 and finished 5th in the 800 (advancing to the Masters meet in both events), Gabrielle Scott finished 3rd in the 400, Becky Crouse finished 4th in the discus (and advanced to the Masters meet), and the 4x400 relay team of Kyle Wolff, Sarah Toberty, Christine Babcock, and Gabrielle Scott won the race with the 3rd fastest time across all divisions (each of the four girls ran their 400 leg of the relay in under 60 seconds).
