Cross Country Summer Training (3rd segment)

Week of Aug 4th:  50 miles for “A” group, 30 miles for group “B”, 20 miles for “C”

  

Mon, Aug 4th

  • AM:  WHS to Culver to Campus to Ridgeline (backwards) to Turtle Rock to Jeffrey to WHS
  • PM:  4 miles easy run (30-35 minutes)

Tue, Aug 5th

  • AM:  WHS to bike path to Harvard to railroad tracks to Sand Canyon to Alton to WHS
  • PM:  25-30 minute continuous swim

Wed, Aug 6th

  • AM:  Yale Loop (counter clock-wise)
  • PM:  4 miles steady-pace (28-32 minutes)

Thu, Aug 7th

  • AM:  3-mile tempo run from WHS to the 133 back to WHS.  If bike path is closed, then go to Alton to Valley Oak to Barranca and back.
  • PM:  25-30 minutes of swimming

Fri, Aug 8th

  • AM:  WHS to West Yale Loop around South Lake to the North Lake to the top of the North Lake to Irvine Center Drive to Culver to WHS
  • PM:  3 miles easy run (20-24 minutes)

Sat, Aug 9th

  • AM:  Get ready for Mammoth

  

Notes:  “B” and “C” groups run 4 and 6 miles on the same route as the “A” group with out and back direction.  Time-wise, “C” is 20 minutes out and 20 minutes back.  “B” is 25 minutes out and 25 minutes back.
