Lady Warriors Lose Late Lead but Beat #8 Oilers in OT

Woodbridge 57, Huntington Beach 52 OT:  Led by the defense of a hustling Julie Walton, Woodbridge built a double-digit lead deep into the third quarter Thursday night against Huntington Beach at the WHS Gym.  Using a tenacious, collapsing defense, the Warriors (17-3 Overall, 3-1 Sea View League) kept the eighth-ranked Oilers (16-5, 3-1) frustrated until late in the game.  Huntington Beach made a late comeback and threw up a last second shot to tie the game at 50-50, forcing overtime.

In overtime, though, the Lady Warriors controlled the tempo with nearly all of the scoring, finally winning 57-52.  Sara McCutchan led Woodbridge with 25 points and 8 rebounds, followed by Ashley Ward with 11 points and 7 rebounds.
